Contemporary cloakroom with patterned floor

The Project:

Charlotte from Manchester wanted to update a tired looking downstairs toilet. Although it was fairly neutral and all in working order, she had been inspired by images in interiors magazines and wanted to give it an up to date look that would have more wow factor when friends came to visit. As she was on a tight budget she decided to keep the existing toilet and sink and just refresh them with new taps and finishing touches, plus she liked the traditional style and thought it would co-ordinate well with the patterned tiles she had in mind. As the patterned floor tiles would make a bold statement in a small room she decided to keep the walls classic with flat white brick shaped tiles, though added a contrasting grey grout for a contemporary finish.

The Result:

Charlotte said: “It’s amazing what a big difference the new tiles have made to the room. I always hated the old beige carpet that was in there when I bought the property, so now it’s been replaced by these gorgeous patterned tiles I absolutely love it because it’s stylish as well as clean and practical. The wall tiles look great too and even though they’re really simple they add to the overall look that I was hoping to achieve. The white and grey colour scheme is so much nicer than the old beige and magnolia look. Everyone who’s visited since I had the room updated has commented on the tiles and how different the room looks now. I’m so pleased with it!”
